IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alberta
Peters
January 3, 1924 – October 24, 2021
Alberta Peters, a long time resident of Mount Vernon passed away Sunday 10/24/2021 at the age of 97. Alberta was preceded in death by her loving husband George "Pete" Peters, son Timothy Smith and grandson Bryce Smith. Alberta is survived by her son Lee Smith (Darlene), grandson Preston Smith (Traci) and great grandchildren Collin and Phoenix Smith.
Alberta loved to read the Bible and immersed herself in the word of God. She never tired in her commitment to Jesus Christ and spread his words often.
Alberta loved her house on Little Mountain and enjoyed adding little decorative touches to it. She was an excellent gardener and took pride in her many different flower gardens around her property.
Alberta loved to stay active up until shortly before her passing. She enjoyed going to "The Spa" Riverside Health Club to work out. Alberta enjoyed doing water aerobics, weights, walking and swimming. She also liked to get the "scoop" about things going on around town from the other club members. This active lifestyle both in body and mind greatly contributed to her longevity. She took pride in her health and often boasted about still having all her teeth and not needing a wheelchair.
Alberta will be missed by many. Especially by her faithful cat Blue.
Thank you so much to the wonderful staff at Hospice of the Northwest for making Nana's final weeks as comfortable as possible. Also a big thank you to Alberta's long time care giver, helper and angel Nicole. Your devotion to our Nana will not be forgotten.
Alberta will be laid to rest next to her husband Pete at Hawthorne Memorial Park on Friday 10/29/21 at 2pm. This will be an informal gathering but all who wish to attend are welcomed.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Alberta's name to St. Jude or any other charity that is special to you.
