Alexander Robert "Al" Glaubert Al was born November 3, 1920 in Lithuania, outside the city of Kaunas; he passed away March 1, 2010 in an auto accident. He immigrated to Tacoma at 3 years of age. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1938. He attended the University of Washington for 1 year. He attended the Officers School for Merchant Marines in 1941. He was involved in the Coast and Geodetic Survey in Alaska during the war and after. He was employed by the Seattle Fire Department from 1950 until retiring as Captain in 1975. He retired to his Skagit Valley Farm and played his true love of life-golf at the Skagit Golf and Country Club. Summer in Skagit Valley, Winters in Blythe, California on the golf course. The next 35 years were very much fun life for Al. Life was independent for Al from fishing, golfing, hunting, skiing, and travel if necessary. He married Patricia Leather in May of 1942. Patricia passed away on September 17, 1996. He is survived by 2 children: John (Jack) A. Glaubert and wife Shirley, Diane Glaubert-Curtis/Jones and husband John; 3 grandchildren: Kristine Dee and husband Keith Cronin, Karen Lynn and husband Chris Charters, and John Markley (Mark) Curtis and wife Tanya Wisskirchen; 5 great-grandchildren: Nicholas Charters, Claire Cronin, Brandon Alexander Charters, Carter Douglas Cronin and Krista Charters; and wonderful Burnice Eckrem-Al's soul mate and companion of 10 years.
