Obituary

Alice Marie (Muller) Reichlin was born July 21, 1932 in Chehalis, WA and passed away peacefully with her devoted family by her side at Skagit Valley Hospital on Friday October 28, 2016. She was 84 years old.

Raised in the Puyallup Valley, Alice graduated from Sumner High School in 1950. Alice's favorite subject in school was math which led her to her first job at Seattle First National Bank in Sumner WA.

In May of 1953, while attending her childhood friend's wedding she met Frank L. Reichlin. Her childhood friend Rosie was marrying Frank's younger brother Art. A year later she married Frank on June 26, 1954, at All Saints Catholic Church in Puyallup, WA and she moved to the Skagit Valley.

Alice 's love in life was her family, her grandchildren and watching sports. She supported her grandchildren enthusiastically in whatever activity they were involved in. She thrived on family time and enjoyed playing card games and dominoes. She loved watching sports on TV and often you could catch her listening to games on the radio. Her favorite sport was basketball especially the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Go Zags!

Another passion Alice had was to crochet. You could always find her with that crochet hook in her hand. She would take her yarn bag with her wherever she went and she would pull it out and occupy her time by crocheting. Over the last 40 years she has made several afghans, numerous baby blankets, awesome pot holders, dish cloths and her famous Christmas tree skirt. Her joy was to give them away to family members, home visitors and friends.

Alice is survived by her husband Frank, of 62 years, seven children: Frances Santiago, Roberta Robinson, Charles (Tammie) Reichlin, Fred Reichlin, Paul (Janice) Reichlin, Bev (Doug) Dimock and Maria (Karl) Sturdy, 18 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Alice was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Reny Santiago.

Alice 's children and granddaughter, Genni Koester, were a major loving support during the time of her illness with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF).

The family suggests that memorials be made to Immaculate Conception Regional School in Mount Vernon.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday November 5, 2016,
1:00pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with a reception to follow at St. Joseph Center.
