In the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 14, 2017, Nelly became our angel. Nelly lost her battle to a rare condition she had been fighting for 7 years (Acute-Intermittent-Porphyria). She fought strong, she fought hard with a positive spirit all the way through. Nelly's joy came from being outdoors. She loved hiking and playing tennis. She had a flare for the arts: drawing, acting, modeling, fashion design and she loved make-up. Those who knew her would remember what a passion she had for pumping up the crowd when she hosted concerts. She had a passion for pets, particularly dogs, but her baby was her kitten, Moni. Nelly will be forever missed by her grandparents, Margarita Ibarra "Mamita Maga", Inocencio Ibarra "Papi Chencho", Cruz Gomez-Flores "Abuelita Cruz" and Rueben RodriguezDeleon; her parents, Susana Ibarra & José Rodríguez, her siblings, Jovanny & Dianna Rodriguez; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, supporters, and the love of her life, Colter Bailey. You will always be remembered and cherished. Viewing will be held at Hawthorne Funeral Home, 1825 E. College Way, Mount Vernon, Tuesday, November 21, 2017 10:00am-7:00pm. On Wednesday, November 22, 2017, a Graveside service will be held at Hawthorne Memorial Park at noon. A social gathering will be held following the burial, 1:30pm at St. Charles Church, 935 Peterson Rd., Burlington. Ella tenía una gran habilidad para las artes: dibujo, actuación, modelado, diseño de moda y le encantaba el maquillaje. Aquellos que la conocieron recordaran el entusiasmo que siempre tenía para animar a la multitud cuando organizaba conciertos. Ella tenía una pasión por las mascotas, especialmente los perros, pero su consentida era su gatita, Moni. Nelly será extrañada por sus abuelitos, Margarita Ibarra "Mamita Maga" Inocencio Ibarra "Papi Chencho", Cruz Gómez-Flores "Abuelita Cruz" y Rueben Rodríguez-De león.
