Anthony "Tony" Wetsch, 73, entered peacefully into rest at his home in Mount Vernon on Sunday, June 29, 2008 with family by his side. Tony was born on August 8, 1934 in New Salem ND to John and Ida Wetsch. He attended the Catholic school in New Salem. In 1954 he married Loretta Krumm. One daughter was born in Bismarck. They moved to Billings, Montana where the second daughter and two sons were born. In 1963 the Wetsch family moved to Mount Vernon where all have been long time residents. Tony worked at a local flooring business, The Mount Vernon Carpet Center, now Carpet One, for twenty-five years. He retired in 1994. Tony enjoyed motorcycles, golf, bowling and playing cards. He also enjoyed growing tomatoes and loved being around people, telling jokes and socializing. He was a long term member of the Eagles Club, the Moose Club and a past member of the Elks Club. Tony is survived by his wife Loretta of 54 years; daughters Peggy and Kathie; sons, John and Jeff; brothers Tom, Don and Mike; one sister, Bettyann; one grandson, Nathan. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Danny. A memorial service will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church on July 3rd at 2:00pm. A reception will be held at the St. Joseph Center in Mount Vernon immediately following the service.
