Obituary

Arleta "Rae" Allen passed away on March 28, 2023 at Ashley Gardens Memory Care facility in Mount Vernon, Washington.

Rae was born on December 11, 1937 in Los Angeles, California to Knowlton and Lorena Honeycutt.  Rae graduated from Bellflower High School in 1955.  Rae incorporated her love for travel with employment by working on a cruise ship for several years. After moving to Arlington, Washington Rae worked at Don's Restaurant in Marysville, Washington. Rae bought Don's Restaurant and owned and operated it for ten years.  Rae moved to LaConner, Washington after she retired, spending the last 25 years living on Puget Sound, enjoying the beautiful view from her living room window.  Rae loved to travel when the opportunity permitted.  She also loved to read in her spare time.  Rae had many philanthropic endeavors by supporting Fred Hutchinson Cancer Society, Island Hospital, and the Skagit Valley College Culinary Arts program.

Rae was preceded in death by her brother Clifford Honeycutt, sister in law Patricia Honeycutt Hubbard and her significant other Don Finsen.

Rae is survived by her seven nieces and nephews: Margaret Lawrence, Clifford Honeycutt Jr., Elizabeth Pope, Katherine Coffman, Caroline O'Boyle, David Honeycutt, and John Honeycutt as well as nineteen great nieces and nephews and nineteen great, great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to your local Humane Society.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date on the Hawthorne Funeral Home and Memorial Park website.
