Barbara was born on January 5th, 1936 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Dean and Luella Braucher.  At the age of four her family moved to Redding, California where she grew up.  Barbara was baptized on February 16, 1936 at First Lutheran Church, Ponca City, Oklahoma.  She was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Redding California in 1950.  Barbara married Walter A. Nelson on May 16, 1968 at Trinity Lutheran Church in MT. Vernon where they were members for twenty years.  Barbara sang in the choir and Walter  was an elder.  The two of them were married 51 years when Walter passed away in October of 2019.  Barbara was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Marysville for the past twenty-four years.  We are saddened to announce her passing on 2/8/2024 which was unexpected at age 88 years old.  Barbara lived life for Jesus, Church, family and is survived by one brother Dean Braucher; three sons Mitchell Nelson, Brad Waddell and Christopher Nelson; two daughter-in-laws Karen Nelson and Sandra Nelson; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and five nieces.  Funeral Service will be held on Saturday February 17th at 11am.  Location Messiah Lutheran Church, 9209 State Ave, Marysville, WA 98270.
