Betty J. Brandstrom, 95 of Mount Vernon passed away on March 28, 2022. She was born on July 25, 1926 in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Arthur and Ruth Ewing.

Betty was raised in Omaha along with her 4 brothers. After World War 2 she traveled by train to visit a friend in Mt. Vernon. While there she met a young man on a blind date and 2 weeks later they were married, Betty and Ansel celebrated their 65 ^th wedding anniversary in 2011. After that she was busy raising 3 boys on Park St, Freeborn and the family farm.

Mom and dad loved to travel. After retiring they sold the family farm, bought a 5 ^th wheel. In the next year and a half they had visited every state and returned with a lifetime of memories. They continued to travel as snowbirds until that was no longer possible. Betty also loved her sew group and their frequent gatherings.

Mom and dad were lifetime members of Freeborn Lutheran Church. They continued to attend until they could no longer travel to Stanwood.

Betty was proceeded in death by her brothers Ken, Don, Jack, Jerry and sister Marjorie who died at age 1.

A memorial service will be held at Freeborn Lutheran Church on April 30, 2022, at 2:00pm in lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Hospice, Freeborn Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.

Betty is survived by her children Tim (Patty), Tom (Vickie), Tracy (Teresa), 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
