IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Ann
Fike
April 19, 1945 – December 14, 2023
Beloved mother and grandmother Betty Ann Fike passed away on 12/14/2023 after a brief battle with cancer. She spent her last evening surrounded by family. She is survived by her daughters Shelley and Shannah, her sister Ginny Milne and their families.
Betty was born in Marshall, AR. Nice enough place, but it couldn't contain her ambitions. At a tender age she followed her parents (Willard and Mamie) to Yakima, WA. There she blossomed in the warm embrace of an extended family. In college, at Western Washington University, Betty majored in Anthropology and Psychology including graduate studies in Social Work. She then worked in Child Protective Services at DSHS in Seattle and its environs.
Mom always loved travel and adventure. Just eight years ago she was off on her Western Tour. Beginning with a fleeting stop in Boise, ID to hang with two of her favorite people, grandchildren Quinn and Riley. She was then off to southern Arizona to soak up the desert sun and beauty. The tour included a touchdown in the seaside community of Cannon Beach, OR. Mom loved the water - the beach, her preferred destination. Anyone who knew Betty would attest to this. The tour drew to a close, as she arrived back home to Big Lake, WA.
Betty contributed to animal causes throughout her life - and she was a regular at puppy christenings and bird blessings. Amongst her favorite charities is the Humane Society (please give in lieu of flowers). A lover of personal and professional drama, Betty appreciated all art forms.
She'll be missed.
