Bill McMoran was born April 29, 1942 in Mount Vernon to Skeets and Ramona McMoran. He passed away peacefully on December 9, 2017 while surrounded by his family at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife Susan, his daughters Kristie, Alyssa and her children Brody and Sophia, Heather Blake and her son Preston, his brother Don and wife Mary, his nephew Donny and his daughters Abbie and Allie, his niece Brittany and her husband Marcus, their children Shawn and Brooklyn. He is additionally survived by his mother-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his parents, nephew Darold, father-in-law, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bill graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1960. He went on to graduate from Chico State, eventually returning to Mount Vernon.  He had strong roots in the farming community and retired from Farmer's Equipment.  Bill was known for his large heart and helping spirit.  He lived to help others. He was an active member of the Mount Vernon Elks, cofounder of the Mount Vernon Pitbull Wrestling Club, and served on the Skagit County Ag Advisory Board.  He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hiking, traveling (especially to Mexico), and spending time with family and friends. He was also a die-hard Husky football fan.

A viewing will be held Thursday, December 14, 2018 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hawthorne Funeral Home

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 15, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon WA. with a celebration of life reception to follow at the Mount Vernon Elks Club
