IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bruce Edward
Browning
September 25, 1928 – August 2, 2022
Our Father Bruce Browning passed away on the 28 th of June 2022. In his own words a few weeks before his passing "I know where I'm going, I have lived a great life, I just don't want to miss anything".
Dad grew up in Seattle. After graduation from UW/NROTC with a degree in Business Administration and shortly after that a commission of Lieutenant JG in the US Navy, Dad married Margaret Millenaar then promptly set sail for Korea aboard the USS Vammen DE644. While he was in the Navy his first son David was born. After the Navy, Bruce went to work for IBM in the early days of computers shortly after that, Peter was born. The family moved to Montana and Kay joined the family.
Bruce eventually went to work for the Whatcom Community College and developed their Business and Computer program where he worked until he retired.
Bruce was an organic farmer in Whatcom County starting in the early 1960's where the farm remains certified organic. He was a bit of a renaissance man. He loved to work on old wood boats, cars and anything that had a motor. Going for a walk with him in Bellingham meant you would stop and talk to a lot of people. He was never too busy to miss out on a good conversation.
Bruce is survived by his son David, Ronnelle, Matt and Nick, his son Peter, Laurel, Blake, and Piper and his Daughter Kay Moolenijzer, Nick, Jack, and Nick.
We all feel blessed to have had him as our father and share in his joy of a life well lived.
