IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Jean
Miller
July 27, 1938 – August 3, 2022
Carol Jean Miller passed away peacefully in Burlington, Washington on August 3, 2022. She was born July 27, 1938 in Crookston, Minnesota to Dona Trudeau and Leah (Beaudry) Trudeau.
As a young girl, Carol lived on her family's hop farm in Moxee, Washington. She often shared memories of life on the farm, living with her French-speaking grandmother, and attending Catholic school. In 1953, the family moved to Port Angeles, Washington, where she met and married Robert E. Arp. Carol was a third-generation seamstress working from home while raising their children, Debbie and Dan. During the early '70s, she was a waitress for Max Dale's Restaurant.
On August 19, 1977, Carol married Dan H. Miller in Burlington, Washington, where they built their home. She enjoyed many fond years with Danny—helping with the crop and dairy farm, vacationing in Mexico, and attending the annual Bob Hope Desert Classic. Entertaining family and friends was a hallmark of their life together. Danny passed away July 9, 2008.
In 2010, Carol met Jack R. Sands, and they shared a treasured companionship. They enjoyed walking, dining, outings while listening to their favorite country music, and vacationing in Branson, Missouri.
Carol was a long-time member of the Skagit Golf & Country Club. There, she enjoyed the many friendships she made. She was an avid golfer and proud of her two holes-in-one and women's club championships.
Carol is survived by her children and their spouses, Debbie and Max Bahr, and Dan and Annette Marie Arp, three grandchildren and their spouses, Christy (Bahr) and Jonathan Hirokawa, David and Erica Bahr, and Tyler and Serina Arp, and three great-grandchildren, Austin Arp, Tennley Arp, and Oliver Hirokawa. She is also survived by her sister, Priscilla K. Schloss and her companion, George Penic, nephews and nieces she held dear, and Danny's close nephew, Matt Miller, and his wife, Kim Miller, and their children, Jonathan Miller and Emma Miller. Carol is survived by her dear companion, Jack R. Sands. She was predeceased by her husband, Danny, her parents, and brother, Robert R. Trudeau.
Mom had an unwavering and bone-deep love and devotion to her family. She fostered a loving and welcoming home. Many will remember mom for her outgoing, friendly nature and warm smile.
The family is grateful for Dr. Eric R. Stark's compassionate care and to the dedicated staff at Creekside Continuing Care Community.
