IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carolyn
Traylor
August 5, 1939 – December 11, 2023
Carolyn May Traylor, 84, peacefully passed away at Cedar Creek Assisted Living Facility in Washington, Indiana on December 11, 2023.
Carolyn was born in Washington, Indiana on August 5, 1939, to Dale and Eva (Stafford) Alford. She graduated from Washington High School in 1957.
Carolyn and Gordon Traylor were married on April 9, 1974. Carolyn then relocated to southern California shortly after that to join Gordon and his son, Gil. Gordon and Carolyn eventually moved back to Otwell, Indiana.
Later in life, Carolyn and Gordon moved closer to Gil's family in Mount Vernon, Washington. After Gordon passed, Carolyn made her way back to Washington, Indiana. She spent the last three years at Cedar Creek Assisted Living Facility, compassionately cared for by the staff.
Carolyn was best known for her unselfish attitude and huge heart for her family. Carolyn spent a great deal of time caring for her elderly parents. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and helping plan and execute church dinners at the Otwell United Methodist Church, and she loved sharing her passions with those around her.
Gordon Herschel Traylor, her dearly loved husband, preceded her in death, as did both of her parents, Dale and Eva Alford, and her sister, Lenora Lea Hart. Her surviving family includes her niece, Patricia Ingle (Mitchell) of Mooresville, Indiana; sister, Cheryl Price (Art), of Washington, Indiana; and brother-in-law, Ed Hart of Washington, Indiana. Also surviving are her stepson, Dr. Guilford Herschel Traylor (Anne), Mount Vernon, Washington; grandchildren; Julia Marie (Paul) Gunn of Everett, Washington; and Samuel Guilford Traylor, Mount Vernon, Washington. Nieces and nephews include Anthony Price of Jasper, Indiana; Alicia Dobbyn (Mark) of Wheatland, Indiana; and Adam Price (Chelsea) of Bedford, Indiana. Great nieces and nephews include Natalie Jones, Zane Price, Ava Price, Quinn Price, Declan Price, Tanner Dobbyn, Trevor Dobbyn, Taylor Dobbyn, and Turner Dobbyn.
A memorial service will be held at Cedar Creek Assisted Living Facility this Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 2:00 pm. The public, family members, and friends may attend.
