IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Catherine I
Dutton
August 31, 1944 – June 23, 2016
Catherine Irene Dutton was born to Francis and Dolores Bacoka on August 31, 1944 in
Everett , Washington . Her early years were spent in Pullman , while her dad went to WSU & played football. In the early 50's she moved to Burlington where she went to grade school, and then to Mount Vernon where she graduated from High School. In her adult life she was the secretary at Cascade Natural Gas, Garrett Freight Lines, and
Office Manager for the Teamsters Union where she retired in 2000. She loved her
members because she was a loving and caring person. Cathy passed away Thursday, June 23 in the morning at 5:50 surrounded by Merwyn (husband for 51 years), daughter Lisa and husband Greg, her son Michael & wife Maggie, her sister-in-law Sharon and husband Phil, and her niece Donna. Earlier in the week, she had been visited by many people (her 3 sisters & brothers in-law, her mom whose name she called the most while suffering, Jennifer & Mark Reichlin, Norm & Sue Eiceman & most of her grandchildren which she had 12, & 2 great-grandchildren who were there also. Catherine is survived by Loving Husband Merwyn, mother Dolores, daughter Lisa, husband Greg, and their children Lauren, (Anthon), Carly, Drew, Great grandson Liam, and great granddaughter Adria, son Michael and wife Magdalena Dutton and their children Lesley, Miles, Kathleen, Matthew and Justina. Step-son Terry Dutton and granddaughter Brianna (Eric), granddaughter Ashley (Christian) and grandson Brandon. Step-son Tim and his daughter Alexandria . Sisters Janice Bannister (Dean), Teresa Flagg (Randy) Carrie Rolfson (Brian). Cathy also leaves behind numerous nieces & nephews, aunts & uncles & friends.
Her 3 sisters, Janice, Teresa, & Carrie helped immensely throughout her fight with Metastatic Breast Cancer which lasted 5 ½ years. Her main doctors, Theodore Kim, David Kantorowitz, and Michal Whiton (whom she had baby sat years before) were wonderful as were the caring nurses. She loved you all! We are lucky to have a great cancer center at Skagit Valley Hospital . If anyone wishes to make a donation we would recommend the Cancer Care Center and Hospice of the Northwest.
A private graveside service will be at Hawthorne Memorial Park with a reception to follow.
Some special people in her life that went before her, were her dad Francis, her uncle
Johnny Bacoka, her grandma Irene Rochon, and Ardath Lorenson.
To all that befriended Cathy along the way, Thank You!
