Obituary

Catherine Lynn Keane passed away August 5 th 2021 at home with her family at her side after a long battle with health issues.

Cathy was born August 11 th 1949 in Seattle WA. She spent her early years in Longview WA until her family moved to Pasco in 1959.  She graduated Pasco High in 1967 and attended WSU where was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority and met several life-long friends.

In 1970 she married Jerry Keane in Pasco WA. They started their married life in Cheney, and then moved to Spokane, Tacoma, West Seattle, and Edmonds.  In 1979 they settled in Mount Vernon and raised their family for the last 42 years.

Cathy worked at Heritage Gallery for a number of years.  This fueled her love of the arts.  She was a supporter of local artists and enjoyed arts and craft festivals, she also collected a wide variety of art.  Cathy followed her grandparent's passion and was an avid flower gardener.   She loved getting her hands in the dirt. Cathy was also a huge sports fan.  She enjoyed all sports but was a devoted WSU supporter.  She and Jerry attended countless Cougar games over the years in Pullman with a close group of friends.  "Go Cougs!"

Her favorite place was the family cabin at Mason Lake that her grandfather built in the late 1930's.  She spent her childhood summers there which created a lifelong love of the water that she shared with her children and grandson and many friends.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents William and Virginia (Berthold) Frodel and infant sister Lisa.

With sadness, Cathy leaves behind her husband Jerry, their children Shelby and Todd (Jani), her grandchildren Tristan, Sophia, and Sawyer.  Sister's Sue (Mike Wahl), Laurie Frodel, Amy (Stacy Roundy) brothers Greg (Kim)Frodel, Dick (Paula) Frodel, as well as sister in-Law Pat Uhlrich, many nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

At her request there will be no funeral, a celebration will be held at a later date.  Her ashes will be spread at Mason Lake.
