Charles "Keith" Ash was born February 19, 1928 in Mt. Vernon, WA to Charles A. Ash and Gertrude A. Rawson and passed away on January 20, 2018.
Keith grew up in the Big Lake area and attended Concrete high school. He served 3 years as an Army Corporal with the 11th. Airborne in Japan. During his service he attained his Liaisons Pilot License and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal of Occupation. He was a member of the American Legion George Baldridge Post 43.
Keith was married to Regina "Jean" Ash for 67 years and together they shared a life devoted to their family, friends and church. He worked in the telephone industry for 40 plus years and retired in 1990. Retirement allowed them to become" snow birds" traveling south for the winter in their motor home. He was an avid fan of football, particularly the Seahawks and the Montana Grizzlies. He loved building "projects" especially creating their home on Big Lake as a gathering place for his family.
Keith is preceded in death by his brothers: Joe Ash and Gene Ash. Sisters: Irma Welch, Lois Coombes, Eunice Osborne and Ellen Russell. He is survived by his sons: Gary Ash (Carol) and Glenn Ash (Kristen) and daughter Janet Rhoades (Rod) Grandchildren: Emily, Ryan, Kelly, Gretchen, Brad, Stefanie and Brittany. 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. His sister: Nancy Wendlant, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Esther & Bob VanDeGrift and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Keith's life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday March 3, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church Mt.Vernon WA. Luncheon to follow.
