Charlotte Marie Sargent Grandma Charlotte passed away at home on 12/26/14 surrounded by her loving family. Her courageous battle with cancer ended three days shy of her 81st birthday. Born Dec 29th, 1933 in Baker Montana to Raymond & Vivian Bundlie. She moved to Vancouver WA at the age of 9. When she was 14, her high school, Laughlin High, burned to the ground, which forced her to attend Vancouver High. Fate would have it, that she would meet Gene at Vancouver High School. It was love at first sight. Gene and Charlotte were married June 30th, 1952. Gene has carried her high school picture in his wallet for 63 years. In 1958, Gene and Charlotte moved to Burlington, where Gene started his dentist practice. Charlotte and her dear friend, Joyce Richter, Owned and operated the Silkworm floral and gift shop for seven years. Their shop was located in Burlington. Charlotte was involved in many clubs, organizations and charities. These include Garden Club, Soroptimist, investment club, PTA, Red Cross, and Skagit Golf & CC. As a mother, she was involved in her kids' schools and always chaperoned the field trips and dances. She was the president of PTA and was given the state "Award for Better Understanding" by the Washington Education Association. Charlotte enjoyed traveling, scrapbooking, shopping, gardening, golfing, and spending time with her 4 children and 5 grandchildren. She enjoyed many overnight scrapbooking retreats at Baker Lake Lodge with her beloved scrapbooking friends. She loved, laughed, cried and partied with the younger gals until the wee hours of the morning. She taught them valuable lessons about living life and loving your husband, children and grandchildren through the "ups" and especially the "downs". She traveled all over the world with her husband Gene and also with her dear friends Carol and Dorothy. She cherished any excuse to go shopping! It was very important to her that her hair looked nice. For 35 years, she never missed her Friday 10:00 am hair appointment with Joni. Charlotte was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Her beauty on the outside was only surpassed by her beauty on the inside. She was the most thoughtful, caring person you will ever meet. She had a big heart. She loved life, and lived it to the fullest. Although she treasured all of her family and friends, her Grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Dr. Gene Sargent; Brother: Duane Bundlie; Four children: Cindy Randall and her companion Mike Trask (Lake Stevens), Mark Sargent (Burlington), Mike (Lisa) Sargent Burlington), Rob (Lisa) Sargent (Renton), Her 5 Grand Children: Chelsie Randall, Carly Randall, Haley Sargent, Kyle Sargent, Christina Sargent. She was loved dearly by her family and friends and will be truly missed. She was an angel long before she went to heaven. We love you Grandma. A Celebration of Charlotte's life will be held Friday, January 2, 2015, 2:00 pm at the Skagit Golf and Country Club, followed by a reception. A private family graveside service will be held at Burlington Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Charlotte's name to the Charlotte Sargent Memorial Scholarship at any Skagit Bank branch.
