Chester O. Fiedler, 91, passed away September 4th, 2012 in Stanwood, Washington. Chester was born February 14, 1921 near Irene, South Dakota to Adolph and Laura Fiedler. In 1936, Chester moved to Stanwood where he attended Lincoln High School. Chester joined the Army Air Corp during World War II where he served as a radio operator in Texas and India. Upon returning home he worked for Jim Hanson in the retail and wholesale grocery business. Chester married his beloved wife Anita in August 1947. In 1954 he moved his family to Mount Vernon where he worked for Lang Distributing Co. in the wholesale grocery and beer business. He went on to establish his own beer and wine wholesale company Fiedler Distributing Inc. which he ran until his retirement. He was a long time member of the American Legion post in Stanwood, served on the City of Mount Vernon Board of Adjustment and many other civic organizations. Chester was a long time member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and considered the congregation at First his second family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Anita; parents Adolph and Laura Fiedler; brother Elmer Fiedler and cousin Roy Fiedler. He is survived by his sons Ken Fiedler; Bob Fiedler (Cheri); grandsons Dean Fiedler; Neil Fiedler (Kristin); and his great grandsons Jackson and Lincoln Fiedler, cousins Sheran Fiedler of Illinois and Warren Fiedler of Stanwood. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Chester's life will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday September 11th at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mount Vernon. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
