Christopher Thomas Mang, 35, passed away on May 14, 2018 in Mount Vernon WA.
Chris and his twin brother, Robert, were born in Fairbanks AK on June 25, 1982. The family moved to northern Wisconsin in 1988, where they attended the first through third grades. Chris moved with his family to Mount Vernon, WA in July of 1991 and graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 2000. Chris briefly attended Skagit Valley College before working at various part-time jobs.
Chris loved music and movies and was very knowledgeable about both. From high school on, he actively participated in the Skagit Special Olympics programs for track and field, cycling, basketball and bowling. Chris also loved to take road trips and go camping and fishing. He loved being an uncle to his nephews, Martin and Andrew, as well as all of his family, near and far. He often spent time with his great grandmother before her death in 2008. Chris was a friend to anyone he met. He knew many people in Skagit Valley and was always eager to hear about their families and what they were up to.
Chris is survived by his mother, Susan Glesne; step-father, Reed Glesne; twin brother, Robert Glesne; father, Thomas Mang; sisters, Kayleigh and Shelby Mang; and brother, Jordan Mang.
A celebration of life will be held at the Lodge at Hillcrest Park, Mount Vernon, WA on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 5:00pm. A private family graveside will be held at Hawthorne Memorial Park in Mount Vernon WA. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Washington Special Olympics ( give.specialolympics.org/Washington/match ).
