Clarence O. Ward age 86, passed away peacefully from a short battle with Leukemia on September 17 ^th , 2019 at his home in Mount Vernon.  He was born January 5 ^th , 1933 in Yakima, WA and was raised in Yakima, graduating from Yakima High School in 1951. He then joined the Air Force and served until he was discharged in 1955.  He returned to Yakima where he had 4 daughters.  He then moved his family to Edmonds. Clarence worked in the grocery industry working at a few companies and later retiring from Olson's Grocery.  Clarence enjoyed boating, fishing, playing cards, horse races and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife; Donna Ward, daughters; Diane (Scott) Ward, Denise Ward and Kristin (Chuck) Prado; step-daughter Darcy (Ben) Monti and Step-son Adam (Liz) Crenna.  Grandchildren; Joshua, Nicole, Cole, Desi, Breanna, Tyler, Kelsey, Peyton, Colton and Ryan, Great Grand-children Gabe, Alysia, Charlee, Sister Norma Jean" Tootie" (Joe) Folk of Yakima, Sister in-law Carol (Dick) Duffy of Mount Vernon and brother In-law Doug (Patti) Newell of Lake Forest Park . Preceded in death by his parents, brother and his daughter Cheryl Appia. A Celebration of Life will be held October 3, 2019, 3:00pm at Hawthorne Reception Room in Mount Vernon.    In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Clarence's name to Hospice of the Northwest or a charity of your choice.
