Corey Michael DeFamio age 24, passed away August 30, 2015 in Whatcom County. He was born August 27th, 1991 in Phoenix; AZ. Corey lived in California, Texas and Maryland before moving to Mount Vernon, WA in the 6th grade. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 2010 and lived in Japan, where he climbed Mt. Fuji and also lived in Indonesia after graduation. Corey returned to Washington in 2012 where he worked, with plans to complete a degree in nursing. He enjoyed Baseball (coaching and playing), Football, Volunteering for Skagit County Search and Rescue, fishing, cooking and camping. Corey was a member of Diamond Dogs Baseball and Skagit County Search and Rescue. He is survived by his father; Michael DeFamio, mother; Kathleen DeFamio, grandparents; Joseph and Maryann DeFamio, sister; Rebecca DeFamio, brothers; Samuel and Matthew DeFamio. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Richard and Barbara Buser. A Memorial Mass was held Tuesday, September 8th 2015. Funeral Service will be held at a later date in Woodbridge, VA.
