Cynthia Jeanine Toland (née Franklin) passed away on July 19, 2024, at the age of 73, in her home at Bayview, Washington. Born on November 15, 1950, in Mount Vernon to A. Bryce and Barbara Franklin she shared her childhood with sisters Dianna, Rosemary and Susan as well as brothers Gregory, Thomas and William.
Cynthia attended school at Immaculate Conception School, Mount Vernon High School and Skagit Valley College where she earned her LPN certification.
She worked at the family store, Riverside Hardware/Franklin Hardware, and after that at Bearing Supply, Skagit Regional Clinic in Cardiology, Calico Cupboard, Maryanne's Kitchen and Advanced Pest Control.
She had a lovely singing voice which she blessed various choirs with at Immaculate Conception Church and MVHS choir in her youth, to the Spirit group at Salem Lutheran Church in Mount Vernon.
She was very active in the fitness world and spent many years at Mt. Baker Crossfit and various gyms in the area.
She really enjoyed her family, she attended nearly anything they were interested in, especially trail and boat rides. Terry and Cynthia traveled some and enjoyed listening to music together. She was an avid gardener and a collector of angels which could be found all around her house and garden. She loved to host family events especially at her home and the beach house.
She was a most generous woman, mother, nana, sister and spouse. She loved everyone and lived an inclusive life, making everyone she encountered feel important to her.
She leaves behind her husband of 28 years, Terry Toland, four children- Jeff Prestmo- wife Dawn, Jennifer Johnson- husband Rodney, Andrea Nelson- wife Beth, Mariaya Bryant- husband Jeremy. Stepchildren to Debbie, Denise, Jeff and Scott. She was a devoted "Nana" to Cole, Georgia, Madeline, Cynthia, Brayden, Forrest and Naomi and step grandchildren Tristen and Trey. Her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings and friends spent many days and nights by her side caring for her with love these last few months.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A celebration of Cynthia's life will be held Sunday, August 18, 2024, 1:00PM-5:00PM at the Big Lake Fire Department Community Center.
