Darlene, the daughter of Pauline and Marvin Dickson, died on Monday, August 13 ^th at 90 years of age. She was born in Heber Utah on November 27, 1927. She passed away in her sleep at the Creekside Assisted Living facility in Washington State. On July 31 ^st she entered hospice care as her health was rapidly deteriorated. Darlene had mentally declined over the last 2 years. As she requested, she was cremated.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Mickey, her 3 sons, Tom Thayer, Ted (Stephanie) Thayer, and Erik (Deborah) Pedersen. She is also survived by her sister Kay Hoagland, and 4 grandchildren, Sean Thayer, Christopher Thayer, Amanda Thayer, and Gunnar Pedersen.

Darlene had a successful career as a high school business teacher and counselor. She graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor's Degree. She got her Master's Degree in Education from California Western University, also in San Diego. She successfully raised three sons, almost single-handedly. She met Mickey Cornwall in the mid 60's and they wed in 1969, the marriage lasting almost 50 years. Darlene and Mickey traveled extensively and were active in their church and local activities.
