Obituary

On November 3, 2021 our beloved brother David Floyd Bressler passed away unexpectedly and was taken to a better place to rest.  David, youngest of three children, was born on March 13, 1951, in Salem, Oregon to Gordon and Esther Bressler.  Following a divorce, Esther and the three children moved to Burlington, Washington in 1958 where he graduated from Burlington-Edison High School in 1970, lettering in track.  David enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1971 where he reached the rank of sergeant as an aircraft equipment technician stationed in the Netherlands.  This was a great base where he enjoyed traveling to nearby countries during his "off time." David was proud of his time in the service and had a deep regard for those that served in the armed services.

After being discharged, David began his life long career in the farming industry.  He had the pleasure of working for three of his uncles:  Floyd, Virgil and Norman Nelson.  He retired in 2010 after 34 years working for Double N/N Potatoes.

David married Vicky Mannon in 1983 and inherited a ready-made family as she had two children, Kurt and Renee.  After five years, they divorced.

David enjoyed collecting coins, playing golf, helping friends and family and occasionally kite flying.  In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting.

David was preceded in death by his mother Esther Nelson Kordal and father Gordon Bressler. He is survived by sister Janet Spenst, brother Wayne Bressler, nephews Justin Spenst, Scott Bressler and Aaron Radich plus countless Nelson family cousins.

There will be a short graveside service at the Burlington Greenhills Cemetery off Gardner Road, at 12 noon on Friday, December 10 th .  This will be followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at the Burlington Eagles Club, 119 North Cherry St. at 1 pm for food and fellowship.
