David Dale Enders passed away on March 6, 2023, at Skagit Valley Hospital.  He was 71.  Dave was born on Sept. 10, 1951, in Miles City, Montana to Dale and Wanda (Hanson) Enders.  At this time his family lived in a home on the Crow Indian Reservation while Dale worked for the Rural Electrification Administration.  Dave's parents loved recounting how members of the tribe filed through the house, bringing beautiful handmade gifts for the baby.  These were always treasured by the family.

As a child, Dave lived in Yakima, Ephrata, Mountlake Terrace, and Edmonds before moving to Mount Vernon in 1967.  He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1969, earning academic honors and All-Northwest Conference honors in football.  Dave graduated from the University of Washington in 1973.  He was a 3-year letterman playing football for the Huskies, and enjoyed friendships with team members, especially fellow offensive linemen.  During this time, he married Mary, and they were fortunate to spend over 50 wonderful years together.

After college, Dave began his career at Concrete Nor'West/Miles Sand and Gravel.  During his years as a manager there he always tried to emphasize honesty, fairness, hard work, and care for employees and their families, and was widely respected in the industry.  In retirement, until health issues intervened, he was thrilled to be able to play golf most days of the week.  He was a member of the Avalon Golf Links for 30 years and was proud of shooting 2 holes-in-one at the course.

Foremost among the qualities Dave will be remembered for, fostered by his raising, were courage, dependability, love and care of family, and a marvelous sense of humor.  He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, John and Goldie Hanson; aunt and uncle, Gloria and Wallace Kreutzman; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara and Joe Brummitt; sister-in-law, Colleen Riggs, and sister-in-law, Margaret Enders.

Dave is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Eric; brother, John; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Julie and Don Erickson, Nancy and Tom Thramer, and Sarah and Jeff Steiner; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Cheryl Brummitt; sister-in-law, Jill Brummitt; brother-in-law, Gary Riggs; cousin, Cynthis Sundquist; and many nieces and nephews.
