Delayne Kay Pratt, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on March 4, 2024  at her home in Mount Vernon, WA. She was 73.

Delayne was born on December 16, 1950, in Bellingham, Washington to Dorothy and Thomas Rutherford. She was the cherished older sister of Dori and Dorothy Gail. Her passion for life and love for her family shone brightly from her earliest days living on Cornwall Ave. She attended Bellingham High School and graduated in 1969.

Delayne's mother Dorothy passed away in 1972, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength that resonated deeply with Delayne and her family.

In 1971, Delayne married Rick McCafferty and welcomed three children into the world: John, Thom, and Taralyn whom she lovingly referred to as "her little buddies". In 1986, she married the love of her life Robert Pratt, with whom she shared many wonderful years until his passing in 2019.

Delayne's Lutheran faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was an active member of her local church where her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many.

Delayne led a fulfilling career, first as a loan officer at a local credit union and later as an office manager for a chiropractor. Her professionalism, diligence, and compassion endeared her to all those she worked with.

An avid sports fan, Delayne found great joy in cheering on her beloved teams including the Seahawks, Mariners, Supersonics, and Washington State Cougars. However, her greatest joy was traveling. She and Rob enjoyed wonderful times at the beautiful beaches of Kihei, Hawaii, the shores of Mazatlán, Mexico, the beautiful country of Iceland, and of course, taking the grandkids to Disneyland.

Delayne was a devoted mother and grandmother, doting on her grandchildren Emily, Luke, Justin, Kaylyn, and Lance with unconditional love and support.

She will be remembered for her warm smile, easy laugh, and unwavering love for those around her.

Delayne was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Pratt, her parents Dorothy and Tom Rutherford and step-mother Margaret Rutherford.

She is survived by her children, John (Rose) McCafferty, Thom (Shandel) McCafferty, and Tara (Andy) Owen;  sisters Dori (Larry) Fridlund, Dorothy (Darryl) Pope; step-mother Hazel Rutherford; her grandchildren Emily, Luke, Justin, Kaylyn and Lance; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Per her wishes, there will be a small private memorial at Salem Lutheran church.

Delayne's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
