Dennis Ray Mullen

1944-2021

Dennis Ray Mullen, 77, passed away on December 26, 2021 at Mira Vista Care Center in Mount Vernon. He was born on March 30, 1944 to Francis and Alice Mullen in Bremerton, WA. After WWII, the family moved to Mount Vernon where "Denny" graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1962. He attended Skagit Velley College for two years. After brief service in the United States Army National Guard, he attended Western Washington University for one year. Later, he received his Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Central Washington University.

Denny married Michelle Kjusen in 1968. They divorced in 1976.

For twenty-six years he worked at the Mount Vernon office of the Department of Social and Health Services until his retirement in 1993. Also, he played piano in local jazz groups back in the sixties and seventies.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Dennis is survived by his brothers Jerry and Brian, and daughter Anjela Seipke.
