IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dianne Marie
Peth
January 12, 1936 – October 24, 2021
Dianne Marie Peth, 85, of Bow, WA, passed away on October 24, 2021, following a brief illness.
Dianne was born on January 12, 1936, at Rowley Hospital in Mount Vernon to Herbert and Edna Bessner. She spent her childhood in Skagit County and was a proud member of the pioneering Bessner and Summers families, who were early settlers in the valley. She graduated from Burlington Edison High School in 1953.
In 1959, she married Ted Peth. Together they raised three children, Debbie, Sally, and Jay. She was a homemaker for many years followed by dedicated work in the family meat shop at John Peth & Sons Inc. cattle ranch near Edison.
Dianne and Ted enjoyed seeing the country and exploring the great outdoors, spending much of their time traveling in their RV across the U.S. When there was a break in farm work, they loved to spend time crabbing, fishing, and camping. In her later years, she traveled and cruised to various destinations with her dear friend, Valora. Dianne also enjoyed being involved in the community and supporting her grandchildren and could often be found in the BEHS stands cheering them on.
In 2004, she cofounded the Burlington Strawberry Tarts chapter of the Red Hat Society and served as Queen until 2016. The club remains active today and she greatly enjoyed and loved her club "sisters."
She is survived by her children and their spouses; Debbie Claus (Jon), Sally Smith (Herb), and Jay Peth (Kim); sister Beverly Lee; nieces Linda Goodell (Pete) and Brenda Bessner; nephews Jerry Lee (Donna) and Randy Bessner; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; cousins; and dearest friend, Valora Dorsey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted; brother, Bill Bessner; and nephews Brett Bessner and Steve Lee.
A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 3 at Bayview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dianne's memory to the Kirk and Kim Peth and Ed Breckenridge Scholarship Trust in care of Financial Services Group, 336A East Fairhaven Avenue, Burlington, WA 98233.
