IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donneta
Mucke
December 8, 1939 – July 23, 2018
Donneta (Pyle) Mucke is now walking with the Lord after passing away from one of the many
complications arising during her battle with a malignant brain tumor these past four months.
Donneta, along with her twin sister, Rowena, was born in Yakima, WA on December 8, 1939. As the daughter of LeEtta and Linvil Pyle, and, along with her sister and younger brother, Gerald, Donneta spent her happy adolescence in the community of Selah, WA.
After graduating Selah High School in 1958, Donneta went on to earn her associates degree through Yakima Valley Junior College in 1960. From there she moved to Seattle to attend and graduate from Providence Hospital Medical Record Librarian's School (associated with Seattle University) in 1961. She quickly acquired a position in Mount Vernon, WA with Skagit Valley Hospital and set forth to establish the medical records department there.
It was in 1961 when she moved to Mount Vernon and she never left. Donneta instead met and was married to Robert Mucke for 40 years until his passing almost 15 years ago. Together they raised their three sons and their daughter. Donneta continued to work at Skagit Valley Hospital for 28 years. And then, even before she retired from the hospital, she started working part time at the Mount Vernon Public Library. Donneta had a deep passion for reading and dearly enjoyed being surrounded by books for almost 25 years.Donneta's pride and great joy were all six of her grandchildren. She spent many, many hours nurturing them, always loving them, and of course, reading books to them. Her home and garden became their oasis. Grammie will be greatly missed.
Donneta shared her compassion of the Lord within the community of Bethany Covenant Church. There she spent her Sundays with family. And, during the weekdays, she enjoyed the communion with the ladies of her bible study group. Donneta also volunteered with preparing the snacks for the Children of the Valley. Donneta is survived by her mother, LeEtta Pyle, sister, Rowena (Dave) Siegley, brother Gerald (Muriel) Pyle, son Brannon (Kate), son Byron (Kim), daughter Katrina (Chet), son Braun,
grandchildren Isabelle, Calista, Nia, Lila, A.J., and Haley, along with many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, Linvil Pyle and her husband, Robert.
Remembrances can be made to some of the charities Donneta supported: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle Children's Hospital, or Lighthouse Mission Ministries (PO Box 548, B'ham WA 98227). As per Donneta's request, her memorial will be attended by family only.
