Obituary

Dustin Grobschmit passed away in the early morning of December 21, 2016 while aboard his ship. He was born on October 14, 1980 to David and Tammie Grobschmit at the Skagit Valley Hospital. He was first of three children. Dustin attended Conway Elementary and Mount Vernon High School, in which he graduated in 1999. Shortly after high school, he followed his love for engines and horsepower, attending Wyo-Tech. After a brief carrier of working at North Harbor Diesel, he followed his family's heritage and began sailing. He was fourth generation to sail. Dustin joined the Saliors Union of the Pacific, a very well respected organization throughout the maritime industry. He started off sailing as an Ordinary Seaman aboard government contracted vessels. These vessels supported our troops throughout the Persian Gulf during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He continued up the gangway in which he sailed as a well respected position as Boatswain; aboard the RJ Pfeiffer with Matson Navigation Shipping Company. Dustin lives on through his parents, David and Tammie Grobschmit , two siblings Brittany Armstrong and Colby Grobschmit , his girlfriend Jennifer Kelly ,  and mostly through his 5 year old son, Dane; In whom he loved and cared for very much.

He has left behind Grandparents Gene & Vi Boxx, many aunts, uncles, cousins and too many friends that were family to mention. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Bill & Marie Grobschmit.

Rest in Peace. Fair winds and following seas. You will be missed until we will see you again - Love, Your Family

A memorial service for Dustin will be held at:

1300 (1pm for all you landlubbers) Thursday December 29th, 2016. His Place Community Church. Burlington. Wa.

In leu of flowers. an education fund for his son has been established in which 100% of these contributions will be for Dane.  If you feel inclined, any Peoples Bank Branch is able to accept to the account "Benefit of Dane Grobschmit" Peoples Bank, 1801 Riverside Drive, Mount Vernon WA 98273.
