IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Earlene June
Dunlap
April 7, 1929 – November 23, 2018
On Friday, November 23, 2018, June Dunlap, loving wife, and mother of two sons, passed away at age 89 in Burlington, WA. June was born on April 7, 1929, in Mayview, MO to parents Ray and Grace (Stark) Leeper. She spent most of her youth in Missouri, but she also lived in Kansas and Oregon for a short time. She graduated in 1946 from Salem High School in Salem, OR. In 1956, she met the man who would become her husband, Benny R. Dunlap. They were married June 7, 1957, in Oklahoma City, OK. They set up their first home in Kansas City, MO. In June of 1959, their first son, David, was born in Kansas City. Ben's employer was involved with the design of Interstate-5 and the family was transferred to Washington State in 1961. In August of 1962, their second son, Randall, was born in Seattle. They lived in Lynnwood, WA while raising their sons. After Randy's graduation in 1981, June and Ben moved to Renton WA, living there 13 years. Upon Ben's retirement, they moved to the town of Clear Lake, WA and lived there until moving to Burlington, WA this year, 2018. Through the years, June has been an X-ray technician, a secretary, and a teaching assistant at Edmonds Community College, in addition to being a homemaker. Her interests included camping, oil painting, and making handcrafted dolls. She also liked collecting ceramic critters and displaying them throughout the house. June was preceded in death by her father, Ray, mother, Grace, and her son, Randall. She is survived by her husband Ben, son, David and his wife, Jackie, and three granddaughters, Kelly, Anna (Scott) Born, Jennifer Thurnau, and great-grandson Eddy Born. Our family would like to thank the staff at Creekside Assisted Living for the love and care they provided for June these final months.
