Edna Mae Dills, age 88, of Mount Vernon, died Mar. 27, 2008. Edna was born on April 23, 1919, the daughter of William and Viola Boston, in Franklin, North Carolina. She married Ray Dills in 1937 and in 1944 they moved to Mt. Vernon and settled in the Avon area. Edna was a hard worker and homemaker taking pride in her garden and canning. She worked in various jobs around the area retiring from Stokely's. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters; 3 brothers; and her husband Ray. Edna is survived by two daughters, Edna Adkins of Centralia, WA, and Esta Asher of Burlington, WA; and a son Don Dills of Mount Vernon, WA. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Homeplace and Skagit Hospice for all their loving care that they gave to our dear mother. Donations may be made in Edna's name to Skagit Hospice. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Mon., Mar. 31, 2008 at Hawthorne Funeral Home, 1825 E. College Way, Mount Vernon, WA.
