IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eileen S
Adams
May 9, 1931 – June 1, 2017
Eileen S. (Holbert) Adams, of Mount Vernon, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2017, at Mountain Glen Retirement Center where she has lived for the past 5 years. She was born May 9, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, and lived there until she married Max Holbert and moved to Big Lake, Washington. Eileen graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, New York, and worked for New York Life Insurance until her marriage. A favorite past-time of hers before her marriage was being a member of the Brooklyn Bombardier roller-derby club. Eileen and Max had seven children together. Her marriage to Max Holbert ended in 1961. She later married Warren O. Adams in 1969. Eileen and Warren spent many happy years together until Warren's death in 2004. Her deep faith in God carried Eileen through most of her adult life. She attended the Church of the Nazarene in Big Lake for many years, and then Clear Lake Community Covenant Church where she was a member. She is survived by all seven of her children, Dale Holbert (and Susan) of Vader, Washington; George Holbert of Healy, Alaska; Mary Elliott (and John) of Toledo, Washington; Pat Holbert (and MaryAnn) of Ridgefield, WA; Cheryl Gustafson of Mount Vernon; Cathy Sanders (and Ronnie "Poncho") of Lyman; and Kevin (Holbert) Adams (and Lucy and June Bug) of Ferndale; a brother, James "Jim" Smith (and Marci) of Burlington; a sister Lottie Swanberg of Blounts Creek, North Carolina, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Richard Smith, and her parents. She has been loved by many, and will be missed dearly.
A memorial service will be held on June 7, 2017 at 1:00pm at the Community Covenant Church in Clear Lake.Visits: 0
