Ella M. Martinson, Age 80, passed away June 12, 2007 in Mount Vernon. She was born November 28, 1926 in Burlington to her parents Edward and Margaret Elstad. She was raised on the family farm in Edison graduating in1945 from Burlington Edison High School. She married Dale Martinson November 13, 1948. They raised their family in the Burlington area. She worked for the Burlington Post Office until her retirement 1989. She had a passion for rescuing animals, enjoyed her family pets and raising horses. She enjoyed playing the organ and the accordion, oil painting (wining numerous awards), traveling especially Australia and Hawaii and mall walking with her friends. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Dale; 1 sister Marian Williams; 1 brother Eddie Elstad; 1 sister in-law Donna Wenzel; 1 daughter Linda and Don Hayes of Lummi Island, WA; 1 son Pat and Violet Martinson of Mount Vernon, WA; 2 granddaughters Michelle and Gene Warwick and Laura and Keith Yates; 4 great-grandchildren Colten and Chloe Warwick, Kylee and Gavin Yates and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister June Eden. A Graveside Service will be held Friday June 15, 2007, 2:00pm at Hawthorne Memorial Park Mausoleum in Mount Vernon. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the Humane Society of Skagit Valley
