Eric Marshall Looff-Nelson, 59, passed away on June 15, 2026@1:15am after a brief but courageous battle with cancer — an illness that came far too quickly and took him far too soon. Though his time was cut short, his life was full of love, humor, adventure, and cherished memories.
Born Eric Marshall Looff on October 8, 1966@ 6:28am in Santa Monica, CA, Eric was the cherished son of his father Jim (Cindy) Looff and the late Trisha Buell-Nelson. He was also deeply grateful for the love and guidance of his dad, Jessie Nelson.
Eric was preceded in death by his wife, Cassie Gies-Nelson; his maternal grandparents, Neil and Laura Buell; and his paternal grandparents, Jim and Louise Looff. The love he shared with Cassie remained enduring, and he carried that love with him after her passing. He is also remembered with respect by his former spouse, Lolita Nelson, with whom he shared meaningful years, the gift of family, and an everlasting friendship.
He leaves behind his three children — Andrew Nelson, Jennifer (Bryant) McCullough, and Hailey Cole — who were the pride of his life. Eric was blessed with five grandchildren: Hannah, Colton, Anthony, Alyssa, and Scarlett. Each one was a bright light who brought him joy, laughter, and purpose. His love for them was boundless, and he cherished every moment he spent as their Poppi.
Eric is remembered by his Aunt Marsha (Will) Possinger, Aunt Robyn Looff, cousins Caryn (Rusty) Yost, Jeff (Patty) Falconer, Renata Falconer-Yelton, siblings Keri Loving (Jayson), Jon Huerta, and Christy (Michael) Leslie and Grandma Grace Hayes each of whom held a special place in his life and will carry forward the stories, laughter, and love they shared with him.
Throughout his career, he also built many meaningful relationships with those he worked with at Moses Lake Industries and Genie Industries. His coworkers became more than colleagues; they became friends, sharing in the daily moments, stories, and lasting connections that meant so much to him.
Those who knew Eric will remember his dynamic personality, his great humor, and the way he loved his family with his whole heart. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his memory will continue to guide and warm those who loved him.
A celebration of his life will be held on July 25, 2026, at Zamora Park in Moses Lake, WA from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
Forever in our hearts,
