Etta Sanders passed away peacefully at Warm Beach Senior Community on May 13, 2023. Etta Was born to Clyde M. Wallace and Etta Mae (Christensen) Wallace on November 5, 1922. She was the youngest of 4 children (Marvin Wallace, Ruth Wallace Hancock Clauson and Clyde Wallace) all deceased. Graduated from Eatonville High School in 1941, attended Seattle Pacific College and married James R. Sanders November 4, 1942, in Tacoma, WA.
Etta was active in music throughout school- High school, College and in all the churches she and her husband served (in 1949 they took their first pastorate) serving in 9 different churches for more than 40 years, all in Washington state, retiring 1985.
She loved sports, music, animals, family and friends (not in that order, however) she also enjoyed driving until the age of 97.
Etta is preceded in death by her loving parents and 3 siblings. She is survived by daughters Corilee Sanders (Micheal Dunham), Barbara Sanders; one granddaughter Melissa (George R) Brown and one great-grandson George M. Brown and many nieces and extended family.
A service will be held Saturday June 17, 2023, 2pm at the Warm Beach Free Methodist Church, 20815 Marine Drive Stanwood, WA 98292.
