Frances S. Soler, 85 years old Mount Vernon resident, died peacefully in Shoreline, Washington Friday March 3, 2023 at the Shoreline Health and Rehabilitation Center due to father time and Parkinson's.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan, October 13, 1937 the daughter of Frank S. and Sylvia M. Fox Gellish.

In 1945 she moved to Seattle, Washington attending Holy Rosary High School graduating in 1956.  She worked for years at Todd Shipyard as a bookkeeper and data entry clerk. She was a front runner in getting involved in the early days of computers and technology.

In 1972, she met and married Joseph A. Soler on July 21, 1973 and they had 3 children, Joe, Frank and Dan. She raised the 3 boys while continuing to work doing the bookkeeping for the family dairy farm and later owned and operated A Plus Tax Service doing bookkeeping, notary services and taxes until retiring in 2017.

She was an active member of the Skagit County Dairy Women (Treasurer for many years and President in 1990).  She loved supporting her community and getting directly involved, including volunteering at voting centers always smiling and happy to greet everyone as they came in to vote.

She was devoted to her Catholic faith attending both Immaculate Conception in Mount Vernon and St. Charles in Burlington.  For many years she volunteered teaching children religious education classes.

She was fun loving, had an amazing sense of humor, and was adventurous.  She loved playing Mexican train dominoes with her close friends (the 3 Musketeers).

Frances was preceded in death by her father Frank S. Gellish and mother Sylvia M. Fox Gellish, step-mother Helen "Muzzy" M. Hanson Gellish and sister Louise A. Gellish.

Frances is survived by her ex-husband Joseph A. Soler, sons Joseph F. Soler (Dena), Frank J. Soler (Jacqueline), Daniel A. Soler (Liz) and grandchildren Kevin A. Soler (Deana), Kate M. Soler and Corbin J. Soler.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church in Burlington, Washington at 10:30 AM on March 20, 2023, with burial to follow in the Hawthorne Memorial Park, with a reception at St. Charles.
