Frank R. Willis, age 84, of Oak Harbor WA. passed away Wednesday July 21, 2021.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Oak Harbor Elks Lodge, Thursday August 5, 2021, at
1:00pm. Frank was born May 28,1937 in Longview WA. to Elton R. Willis and Etta Ann Wolf
Willis. He was preceded in death by his wife Andrea, his parents, and brother Gerrit E. Willis.
Frank was a loving husband to his wife Andrea Vidmar Mehlmauer Willis for 42 years and a
loving father to Theresa Wallace, Timothy R. (Shelly) Willis from his first marriage, and to
Frank R. Willis Jr, Andrew Willis, John (Dana) Mehlmauer, Susan Mehlmauer Scott from his
second marriage. He also had 8 grandchildren Ryan R. (Kanoe) Willis, Kyle C. Willis, Kaleb A.
Willis, Colin T. (Kalli) Willis, Royal Scott, Erika Mehlmauer, Austin Mehlmauer, and Alexis
Mehlmauer. and was a proud Great Grandpa to Uhiwaiokekuahiwi H. Willis. He also survived
first cousins Susan Wolf Sterkel of Longview WA and Roger Wolf of Boise Idaho; and Nephews
Jeff Willis, Scott Willis, and Shane Willis of Everett WA
Frank went to school in Longview WA K-6 and then finished in Everett WA after they moved in
7th grade to graduate from Everett High School in 1955.
Frank was a U.S. Navy Veteran with 33 years as a Sea Bee Combat Engineer, having worked
in San Diego, CA, Kingsville, TX, Marietta, GA, Puerto Rico, Aidak, Alaska, Mississippi, Guam,
Korea, Japan, His last post was Oak Harbor WA.
Frank also was B.P.O. Elks member starting his membership in Everett WA in 1962 and ending
it in July 2021 in Oak Harbor, where he had many years of fun and served as Exalted Ruler.
Frank also enjoyed officiating for Basketball and Football as a member of the S.F.O.A.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign wars non-commissioned officers Assoc. He was a
avid RVer, loved cooking BBQ, and fishing and people. He was always a big jokester and very
willing to help others. He will be truly missed.
