Obituary

After a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Franklin "Frank" William Rexroth, age 65, passed away September 13, 2011 at Mira Vista Care Center in Mount Vernon, WA. surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born on June 8, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland to Franklin William Rexroth Sr. and Marie Sturm. Frank and his father were involved in numerous community activities, including the Boy Scouts of America, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1963 and was very proud of that achievement. Frank attended Kenwood High School in Essex, MD. where he graduated in 1964. Upon graduation Frank worked for the Bendix Corporation as a sheet metal worker. In 1970 Frank went to work for Pantry Pride grocery store where he was the night crew captain. Frank, his family and other relatives enjoyed camping, so much so that they formed a camping club with monthly meetings. At one of the club meetings Frank met Sandra Lee Slater and immediately fell in love after a blind date. Frank and Sandy were married 4 weeks later on January 8, 1972 and he adopted Sandy's son Mark in May of 1972, where he became a proud father in Mark's life. Frank and Sandy celebrated 39 very happy years together. Frank enjoyed meeting and speaking with everyone he came in contact with. It might have taken a few times for him to remember your name, but always remembered your face. The family eventually moved to Michigan in 1980, where Frank began working for Wolf's Food Market as a Department Manager and later ventured into the Route Sales Industry with Siefert's and Eagle Snacks. Frank transferred in 1990 to the Distributer in Omaha, NE. while his wife, Sandy, was also transferred to Omaha, NE. with Fleetwood Travel Trailers. Their last move came in 1997 when Frank and Sandy relocated to Mount Vernon, WA to become grandparents. In Mount Vernon Frank was employed by Reser's Fine Foods as a Route Sales Driver. Frank loved life and always made jokes, making friends wherever he was. He lived life to the fullest, and lived inside his own heart. He truly cared and had compassion for people.
