Obituary

Fred McGary went to be with the Lord on August 21, 2023.

He was born in Washington D.C. to Edward and Irene McGary on November 24, 1936, and grew up in Dearborn Michigan.

He was an extraordinary man and he touched so many lives.  To have the honor of knowing him, was to LOVE him.  He always had a smile on his face, and he would look you in the eye and tell you how wonderful you were or how much he loved you.  Fred had a wicked sense of humor, always ready for a joke as he loved to laugh.

He was in the Air National Guard.  Was a volunteer firefighter for the Geneva firehall for many years.

He was a deacon at Assumption Church. He was a salesman for the Cascade Natural Gas company and Owner of McGary's Gas Heating.

He loved his home on Lake Whatcom where he could take care of his huge yard, swim year-round to his heart's desire and share the beautiful lake with so many others.  He loved his many years in Kauai, Hawaii - his second home.

Fred Married his high school sweetheart Patricia Beck in 1955 and they were married for 68 years. He is survived by his wife Patricia, his five children Mark (Terry) McGary, Patrick (Janet) McGary, Paul McGary, Nancy (Chris) Rossmiller all of Bellingham and Jeanie Luckenbaugh of Seattle. 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, his brother Bob and wife Annie, wonderful nieces as well as cousins in Michigan.  Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Irene McGary and granddaughter Melissa McGary.

A Celebration of Life will be on September 16th at 1pm for more information you can email Jeanie at jlucken44@gmail.com.
