George Baldwin, a man who never met a story he couldn’t tell, a song he didn’t know, or a situation he couldn’t talk his way out of, passed away April 25th, 2026.

George’s journey began born to Mercy and John Joe Baldwin, he spent his earliest years following the harvest and working the fields alongside his elder siblings, John, Sueanne, Sylvia, and Bobby. As the years passed and the family grew to include Jaime, Michael, and Myra, George carried those lessons of grit and survival with him. Those humble beginnings shaped a man who understood the weight of the world, but eventually found the wit and charm to carry it lightly. He was a true enthusiast of the country legends, living with the steady rhythm of a Johnny Cash song and the charisma of George Strait. A "troubadour" in his own right, George truly came alive in the spotlight—whether he was owning the dance floor, holding a microphone, or cheering until he was hoarse at a concert. That same passion extended to the bleachers; while he loved a good sporting event, he was never louder or more proud than when he was watching his own children play ball.

George’s door was always open to family and friends alike.

He famously pretended the family dogs were a nuisance, yet he was the first to brag about their every trick, quietly beaming with pride for whichever child had done the training.

George possessed the rare courage to choose a different song by breaking the chains of yesterday with a soft word and a steady hand, proving that a man’s true strength is found in the protection he provides. He was the anchor who stopped the tide, ensuring that the hard road he traveled was never the road he led his own children down. While he took pride in many things, his greatest joy was his four grandchildren. He is survived by them, his five children, and his beloved wife and partner in all things, Luz Baldwin.

The cowboy has ridden away, but the new story he wrote for his family will play on forever.
