Les was born on May 12, 1931, to George and Pearl Ellis in Clear Lake, WA.  He was raised in Clear Lake, attending Clear Lake Elementary School and graduating from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1950.

Les and Ruth met on a blind date in August 1953 and were married June 4, 1954, sharing their lives for 69 ½ years.  They welcomed their daughter Lora in 1955 and son Dan in 1959.

Les' favorite thing to do was watch the Seahawks, Huskie's football and the Mariners games.  He liked to go fishing, both locally and trips to Canada every summer.

Les worked in the cedar shake business and a shake packer his whole career retiring from WRP Shake Mill in 1980.

Les is survived by his wife Ruth, daughter Lora Hodgman, son Dan and his wife Blanche, granddaughter Heather Hodgman, grandson David Hodgman and his wife Colleen, and many nieces and nephews.

Les is preceded in death by parents George and Pearl Ellis, sister Eleanor and her husband Lyle Klampe, brother Edward (who died in the Philippines in 1941), brother Gene and his wife Dorothy, son-in-law Pat Hodgman and mother-in-law Bernice Humphrey.

At his request, there will be no services.
