Obituary

Gene Ogden, age 88 went to be with Jesus his Lord and Savior on October 13, 2017. Born in Detroit Michigan the only child of Violet & George Ogden. The family moved from Michigan to California when he was 3 years old. He graduated from Washington High School and El Camino College. His interest in electronics led him to National Schools. He was hired by Lear Sigler as a field engineer, and worked at Air Force bases in California, Washington, Illinois, & New Mexico supervising the installation and flight testing on the F86D fighters. When the new KC135 was built in Renton, Washington Gene supported the flight testing in Moses Lake. The electronics on the tanker consisted of the auto pilot, approach coupler, and stabilizer. He had 320 flights tests on the tanker.

Gene was a man of true integrity, his word was his bond. Always faithful to his wife, family and friends he strived to be his best. Gene took great pride in his work and was highly respected in the aerospace industry.

Nancy & Gene were married on January 27th 1952, (66 years this January). They had two children Brian In April 1955 and Debbie in August 1957. They have 5 grandsons and a darling great granddaughter Madison born just last week on the 10 th (Circle of Life)!

Gene was preceded in death by his parents.

The family returned to the Los Angeles area when Brian & Debbie were school age and remained there until retiring. Upon returning to Los Angeles Gene went into Marketing. He was responsible for tens of millions of dollars of sales of Guidance products to aircraft companies.

At the age of 60 he took up flying gliders. He owned his own glider. His love of airplanes and flying gave him great joy, he flew many flights longer than 300 miles and still flew up to the age of 82.

Gene is survived by his wife Nancy, son Brian Ogden and daughter Debbie Leclair, grandsons Jacob, wife Kelsey and great granddaughter Madison, Joshua and Benjamin and Debbie's sons Andrew and Daniel. Services will be held at First Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 21st at 1:00 p.m. 2015 E Blackburn, Mount Vernon, Washington.
