Obituary

Geraldine "Cheri" Belle Jackson passed away peacefully on April 9, 2023. She was born to James & Ada (Enis) Morgan on September 5, 1932, in Byers, Colorado. The family, including her three older brothers, moved to Anacortes, WA, in 1938.

Cheri grew up on the family farm on Haddon Road. She always loved animals and cared for many on the farm, she even had a pet prairie dog as a small girl; a story she loved to tell. She was an exceptional storyteller and shared many tales of her long and adventurous life with all who would listen. From her time in the U.S. Air Force that sent her travelling all over the United States, to the many years she worked at the Whitney Fidalgo Cannery, she was never without an anecdote of her adventures, trials, and tribulations.

Though she travelled and lived in many different states, Anacortes is where she was raised and where she chose to raise her six boys, mostly as a hard-working single mom. She took great pride in her independence.

Cheri was preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers: James, Raymond, and Edward Morgan; her son Christopher Morin; her granddaughter Angela Morin; and her great granddaughter Taylor Bentley. She is survived by her sons Sheldon Morin (Rebekah), Anthony Morin, R.J. Morin (Cheryl), Sean Morin, and Don Jackson (Abby); eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; five grandfurbabies; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Anyone who knew Cheri, knew she loved to garden. She would rather you pick flowers from her own yard than to ever buy her any. In lieu of flowers or cards, please consider donating to Hospice of the Northwest or your local animal shelter or rescue organization in her honor.

The family would like to extend special thanks and gratitude to Hospice of the Northwest and her entire care team. They were invaluable to the end of life care she received, and their compassion will be cherished always.
