Gertrude "Trudi" Johnson age 86, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon. Trudi was born March 31, 1927 in Supply, Oklahoma to William Pringle Long and Gertrude McElhiney Long. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister Lettie Lee, an 11 year old brother S.J. and sisters Vivian Harnish and Virginia Prindel. Trudi is survived by her husband Richard Johnson of Mount Vernon, sons Theron Earl Wing and wife Mary Dee, Stan Wing and wife Missy, daughters Kimberly Wing Marquette and Marcia Johnson and her husband Barry Margolese, 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and a special "double cousin" Betty Holmes of Arlington Texas. Trudi taught at the Mount Vernon Business College, teaching English, Short Hand and Business Etiquette. She belonged to the Women of The Moose at the Mount Vernon Lodge. She enjoyed collecting and selling antiques, trap shooting at the Skagit Gun Club with her husband. Trudi especially enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at Hawthorne Funeral Home, followed by a Reception in the Hawthorne Reception Room.
