Gilbert L. Nuessen age 88, passed away December 11, 2013 in Burlington. He was born September 28, 1925 in Olpe, Kansas. Gilbert served in the Navy during WW II as a 3rd Mate Signalman on the USS Hollandia and later during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his spouse Lavone, Children; Linda (Mike) Lowe, Karen (Ron) Robertson, Gary Nuessen, Janice Gouch, Joyce (Ron) Curry, Dan Nuessen, Dale Nuessen and Rick (Kelli) Nuessen, 15 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren A rosary service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013, 1:30 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass, 2:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Mount Vernon. Memorial may be made in Gilbert's name to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building fund.
