Virginia "Ginny" Ann Byford was born on February 23, 1947, daughter of Edith Ann and Arthur John Snell. A native of Stockton, CA, Ginny graduated in 1966 from Stagg High School and later in 1970 from Chico State College as a registered nurse. Later that same year she was married, and in the years to come, became the loving mother to Katie, Kristi and Michael. She put her nursing degree to good use, spending many years caring for patients at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, WA, until her retirement.

Ginny was an active member of Bethany Covenant Church and is remembered by many for the kindness she showed them over the years. She also sought to encourage women through her support of Covenant Women Ministries and as a member of Chapter H, PEO. Ginny loved the beauty of the Skagit Valley, especially the tulips, and was happy to consider Mount Vernon her adopted hometown.

She is survived by her daughters Katie (Mike) Heller and Kristi (Chris) Johnson, her son Michael Byford, her grandchildren Michael, Nathaniel, Mikaela Heller, and great-grandson Noah Heimbigner. Ginny is also survived by her step-mother Marianne Snell, her sister Mary Jo (Don) Seibel, step-sister Robin Rudisill, and many nieces and nephews. We wish to thank the staff and doctors at Josephine Caring Community who also poured their love and care over Ginny in her final years. Ginny, 76, beloved mother and friend, passed away on July 15, 2023. A memorial service will be held in her honor at 10:00am on September 9, 2023, at Bethany Covenant Church in Mount Vernon WA.
