Glenda Elsie Farrell, age 70, of Burlington passed away in Mt Vernon on Tuesday, November 15, 2016.

Glenda was born April 28, 1946 in Mt Vernon Washington to Oren and Elsie (Ball) Chase. She grew up in Big Lake and Graduated from Sedro Woolley High School .

She married Patrick Farrell on September 15, 1951.

Glenda was an avid walker and would often be seen walking at Skagit Golf and Country Club with her lifetime friend, Kathryn Martin. Together they completed One full marathon and 2 half marathons.

Many will remember her from the 21 years working at North Cascade Internal Medicine and Skagit Valley Medical Center where she always greeted patients with kind words and a smile. She retired in 2009.

Glenda loved vacationing at Lake Chelan and spent a lot of time there making memories through the years with her family and longtime friends, Rick and Ronda DeGloria.

In 2011 Glenda had a successful kidney transplant. Her sister in law, Merrian Firnstahl donated her kidney to Glenda and the two shared a very successful bond.

Glenda loved nothing more than spending time with her family and was a devoted grandmother to six grandchildren. She shared her kindness and gracious heart with everyone she knew. Her spunk, determination and love for life will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Patrick Farrell; son: Brian Farrell, grandchildren: Chloe and Owen; daughter: Gina McKay (Glen), grandchildren: Emma, Luke, Logan and Connor; sister: Reta Simmons ; brother: Ben (Chris) Chase; twin brother: Glen (Sheri) Chase.

A celebration of Glenda's life will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2016, 2:00 pm at the Skagit Golf and Country Club with reception to follow.
