Glenn Campbell past away Friday, November 20, 2015, in the arms of his beloved wife Barbara in Mount Vernon, WA. He was born Sept. 30, 1937 in Bonaparte, Iowa.  Glenn was born into a large, loving Christian family with 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Growing up on the family farm, he attended school and graduated. He was the star basketball player through high school and was Senior Class President.  After graduation he enlisted into the army and was a military police officer at Fort 1--lood. After serving in the army he moved to Burlington, WA. where he and his wife at that time raised their daughter.  Glenn joined the Skagit County Sheriffs Dept Oct. 1966. Retiring after 34 years. He served as The First Chief of Corrections during the administration of Sheriff Goff. Then, he was the first to be appointed patrol Sergeant during Sheriff John Boyntons' administration.  In 1979 Glenn completed training presented by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Also, he served on the WA. State Law Enforcement Association executive Board and the W.S.L.E.A. Board of Trustees. He was a First Patrol Sergeant and also the pilot at Skagit County Sheriffs office/flying and surveillance work. He was given the name "ACE". He loved flying all of his life. His father would take Glenn up flying after a long day on the farm. Which was one of his happy memories as a child growing up and taking part in fly-ins. He was also a registered Washington State Pilot, doing air search and rescue. His total commitment to his career in Law Enforcement was solid. Glenn was a kind, honest, caring Christian man, loving, with a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile that came from his heart.  He had very fond memories of working with Sheriff Goff, Sheriff John Boyntons, Stg. Dick Terwilliger, Police Chief Floyd Louie. All were great friends and colleagues. They met for coffee every morning like a band of brothers. He was also an Independent Marketing Director with Watkins for years. Words cannot express what a great man Glenn was. A beautiful Christian 24/7. A wonderful, giving father, grandfather and husband. Glenn hobbies were traveling, flying, hunting, fishing, exploring, traveling across North America and South America. Living in the moment. Coffee time with friends, train trips to and through Canada with his "everything" his love, wife Barbara just being together. Glenn and Barbara were planning a trip to Germany and Italy. They cherished their life together. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, WA. State Law Enforcement Association, a Life- Time member of the Mount Vernon Elks Club and AARP, and also a LEOFF I Coalition Member, and the NRA.He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara (Who he called his "everything"), step-daughter Kathy Carbone, granddaughter Lexie Carbone (San Diego) brothers, Wayne )Missouri), Earl (Colorado), Dean (Iowa), sisters, Joyce (Florida), Donna (Iowa) and their spouse, his dear Uncle Morris (Iowa) many nieces, nephews, and his daughter, Rynnea (Sedro Woolley), and grandson Michael (Sedro Woolley), son-in-law Gennaro Carbone (Burlington). He was preceded in death by a grandson Brandon Krauch, brothers, Arthur and Wendel, parents Taylor and Beulah Campbell. At his request no services will be held.
