Gloria Alice Nelson Born August 21, 1926

in Correctionville Iowa to Elva Coon and

Forrest McCleerey,  she was the oldest of 4 girls.

She passed away at her home April 26, 2016 in her sleep.

Moved to Bothell WA as a girl where she met and fell in love with

her future husband of 73 years Ray Nelson.

Married in 1942, they lived 35 years in Conway WA and the

last 38 years in Mt Vernon WA.

Gloria enjoyed painting and spent many years

tracing and cataloging her ancestors, including Doc Holliday.

She also kept journals of her entire married life as well as albums of cards she received over the years and many more mementos. She loved traveling and spending time with family. Gloria was a loving wife and devoted mother.

She worked at Van Lierops bulb farm for many years and also at the

Mt Vernon courthouse.

She is survived by her husband Ray Nelson

Grandchildren Kim Fuller and her husband Brian, Kristen Sanchez, Brent Moran and wife Monique, Heidi Rominger and her husband Craig and Michelle Lehman and her husband Kevin, Great granchildren Amber Balliet and her husband Brandon Bradley Corcoran and wife Jodi, Dexter Rominger, Holden Rominger, Allison Lehman,  Brandon Lehman, Jessie Moran ,Jade Sanchez and McKenzie Moran

and Great Great Granddaughter Ivy Balliet

There will be a small service and celebration of her life

May 14, 2016, 2:00pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home and Memorial Park
